MacTarnahan's Brewing Co. Wins Gold Medal at the GABF with MacTarnahan's Amber Ale
October 9, 2009 - MacTarnahan’s Brewing Co, brewers of Portland’, Oregon reaffirmed it brews damn good beer snagging a gold medal with its Amber Ale at the 2009 Great American Beer Festival TM, held September 24th-27th in Denver, Colorado. MacTarnahan's Amber took the gold medal for Classic English-Style Pale Ale. This was the second time that Portland's bold and original amber ale grabbed gold at the GABF.
"MacTarnahan's has won various medals at GABF over the years. Taking the gold medal this year for the second time with our Amber Ale is most gratifying," said Mark Carver, Director of Pontification for MacTarnahan's Brewing Co.
"We come to serve our beers and support the festival each year. The gold medal for MacTarnahan's rewards our Portland brew crew, led by Tom Bleigh, for the job they do every day of the year brewing great beer."
MacTarnahan's Amber Ale is Portland's original amber ale. It has garnered accolades from consumers and judges alike. In addition to this year's gold at GABF, it recently received a Gold Medal at the 2008 World Beer Championships.
